Some calm before the storm
Hard to believe the month of June is almost over! Where did the time go? Guess that’s what’s to be expected when I stay this busy, huh? Well let’s catch up a bit and then let the storm bring it on.
Been going to PT (physical therapy) lately for my knee. Seems it developed a bit of a problem since last Fall. It’s getting better so that’s good. The extra gas it’s taking to make the 3 visits a week is getting old!
The new Alabama Star Wars costuming group’s site is coming along slowly but surely. They’ve got a great graphic artist among their ranks too. I’ll simply refer to him by his username of “Kenobe” here but let me tell you his work is top-notch.
We’ve been busy installing galleries, sites and all sorts of cool, new things for their new site so when it goes live, it should be something to gawk over.
A current client of mine has asked for a proposal for freshening up of their present site plus some input into a shopping cart for thier branded merchandise. Some color and size charts are on tap too. Good thing I prefer open source software and applications because it saves my clients some hard earned money that I’m sure they very much appreciate in these difficult times we all are experiencing now-a-days.
I’m thinking of selling my laptop and purchasing a smaller one lately. My present one is a 17″ Toshiba
Toshiba X205-SLi1 (link to specs) with harmon/kardon speakers and a subwoofer under the bottom. It runs the Vista Home Premium OS with the Media Center. Here’s a link to a post I made about it right after I got it.
It’s a great computer and was built for gaming, watching movies, etc. but it’s just too darn big for my needs. Yeah, I know…”So why did you buy it in the first place, dummy?!” Well you know what they say about hind-sight being 20/20.
Maybe I’ll try EBay. I still have all the paperwork and the box it came in. Maybe I can sell it for enough to get a good mainstream 15 incher. We’ll see. No rush though as I still have my trusty desktop running Ubuntu Linux.
Well, I’ll keep this short seeing as I need to get back to work on some of these projects I’ve got going. And yes, I know it’s Sunday. Guess some of us just find it hard to stop sometimes.
Hmm, wonder when my vacation comes up? I need to check on that.
