Let the Force be with you!

That’s the best way I can think of to lead into this update on the Star Wars Costuming Group here in Alabama that recently updated their website and forums. I had a small part in this epic production but I’ll take that as I am a fan of the Star Wars movies and games. Well, I’m a fan of pretty much anything Sci-Fi actually. :)

As I had previously posted about here and here the folks at the AL501st here in Alabama had decided to rework things on their site to make it more user friendly, interesting and graphically pleasing to the eye. Not to mention much easier for them to keep updated themselves. Admittedly, updating the site themselves was a priority as their calendar can change fast.

Adam Johnsey was in charge of the graphics end of things and has done a great job on the SMF forums and both Wordpress blogs I installed for them. I’m impressed with his work and find it hard to believe Adam’s a manager at a local Best Buy - Geek Squad store instead of a graphic artist somewhere. Let’s just call Adam “Mr. Multi-Talented”. I’m sure you’ll agree once you have a look at the graphical work he’s done.

Considering that my part consisted of transfering databases over from one server to another, configuring some details on the server and installing some software, it hardly compares to what Adam has done to the visual end of things so with that said, here are a few screenshots of their new site(s) and the links to them for those of you looking for your local fix of Star Wars. Enjoy! :)

When you visit their forums check out the 69th Imperial Dewback Calvary board. Adam has a different theme (shown here) just for this group of costuming “good guys”! ;) All of this fun is hosted at InMotion Hosting too by the way.
