About

I decided to start this blog to update progress on various aspects of projects, hosting issues, and other information that became available as I came across it. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Guess the jury will be out for a while so I’ll see how this goes.

I’m a happily married father and grand-father that really enjoys the time I get to spend with my family. Family is important and a basic core function that keeps me grounded and focused in my work.

I’ve spent the last 30 some odd years in the print industry with the last near decade in web design. This is where my goal of quality first and foremost comes into play.

I prefer “open-source” solutions when applicable as they are often times more cost effective. This translates into more hard-earned dollars saved for my clients. In these times we’re in now, that’s a definite plus!

I am an avid Linux user. Ubuntu is the “distro” or distribution if you prefer, I use and it’s just awesome. I also use Windows on occasion for some things but mostly, I prefer Linux over Vista or XP because it just works. Windows has it’s place but the more I use Linux, the less I use Windows. Open source software is amazing and I use it in my work along-side other more mainstream software. The right tool for the job at hand is what I go by.

I enjoy learning new things from the web and about web development and Linux. Being able to develop something from a simple idea and coax it along to fruition is just plain cool. The same can be said for your operating system by tweaking the code that drives it. This is what got me interested in this field in the first place.

If you’d care to share your thoughts on web design, graphics or Linux in the work place please feel free to add a comment or to reach me directly, you can drop me a line at scottw AT wilsonswaydesigns DOT com
